The Birmingham Figure Skating Club (BFSC), founded in 1961, is a member club of the U.S. Figure Skating Association (USFSA), which is the governing body of figure skating in the United States. BFSC is a non-profit organization, dedicated to promoting amateur figure skating in the Birmingham area.
BFSC's Goals
BFSC activities range from USFSA testing and competitions to Club Night activities for fellowship and fun. The club also provides opportunities to showcase the skating talents of its members through recitals, exhibitions and shows.
As a non-profit organization, funding of BFSC is through membership fees and fund raising activities. The money is dispersed to pay for test sessions, competition, coach’s fees, judge’s expenses, recital expenses, skating seminars and other activities of the club.
Members of BFSC are both skating and non-skating members. By joining BFSC, you also become a member in USFSA with all rights to testing and competitions. Members receive USFSA's magazine, Skating.
